After picking up their first win of the season over the weekend, the Hollins volleyball team won its' first home match of the 2010 campaign.  Hollins swept three sets from visiting Virginia Western on Wednesday night.  The win brought Hollins' record to 2-4 on the season.

Hollins jumped out early and won the first set in dominating fashion 25-5.  The cross town visitors made it closer in set number two but Hollins pulled away with the help of 11 kills en route to a 25-16 win.  Hollins closed out the match by winning the final set 25-15.

India Richey (Bozeman, MT/Bozeman), left, led the way for Hollins with five kills, 11 assists, and 4 aces.  Allyson Reed (Sterling, VA/Dominion) and Janae Parks each added five kills.  Reed and Shelby Mason (Beaumont, TX/Hampshire-Fannett) each served five aces while Simone Mendez (Gardena, CA/St. Bernard) recorded eight digs.

Hollins will look to continue their momentum when they host ODAC and cross-town rival Roanoke College next Tuesday.  The match is scheduled to start at 6:30pm.
