FERRUM, Va. --- Roanoke defeated Ferrum, 3-0 on the road in non-conference action Wednesday evening.  The Maroons, who won their third-straight, improved to 3-2 on the season.

With the win, Roanoke improved to 38-17 all-time against its in-state rival.  The Maroons haven’t lost to the Panthers since the 1997 season.  The scores were 25-15, 25-17 and 25-23 in the final set.

Roanoke got eight kills each from Kelsey Largen and Rachel Hawkins, while Bren Wilberger had 31 assists for the Maroons.  Emily Martin contributed seven digs in the win, while her and Kylie Lucas had a season-best four aces.

Largen moved into eighth on the career kills list with 632.  Maggie Wagner, who finished with four kills and two digs, moved into seventh on the all-time digs list with 767 and sixth in career kills with 706.

The women will travel to Emory, VA this weekend to compete in the Emory & Henry Invitational, Sept. 10-11.  The Panthers and Roanoke face-off again at 1:00 p.m. to kick off the tournament.
