The Virginia Tech football team announced Monday the camouflage helmets to be worn during the Hokies’ “Military Appreciation” game vs. Bowling Green this Saturday (noon) will be auctioned off online at hokiesports.com with a portion of the proceeds going to Wounded Warrior Project.
Wounded Warrior Project was created to raise awareness and enlist the public’s aid as well as provide direct programs for the needs of injured service members.
In addition, the Hokies will wear a special white jersey with camouflage numbers on Saturday. Those jerseys will also be up for auction.
Both the helmet and jersey auctions will begin at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Sept.19, and will continue through Friday, Sept. 28 at 5 p.m. Anyone wishing to bid on either item can do so by logging onto hokiesports.com/auction. There will be a minimum bid of $600 on the helmets and a minimum bid of $300 on the jerseys. All orders will have a $25 shipping fee added to the end of the bid.
