After sitting around the team hotel for over two days, the Blacksburg Minors finally were able to play some baseball.

New River (composed of players from Christiansburg, Radford and Montgomery County) has advanced to VA Dixie Boys State championship best 2 out of 3 series against Halifax County. Game 1 will be Thursday, July 21 @ 6:00 pm and game 2 @ 8:30 pm. All games will be played at the Harkrader Sports Complex.

Christiansburg Parks and Recreation will be hosting the 2011 Virginia Dixie Boys and Junior Boys State Tournament starting today, Friday, July 15, at the Harkrader Sports Complex. There will be 21 teams vying for the Dixie Boys State Championship and 3 teams in the Dixie Junior Boys with the winner representing he state of Virginia in the 2011 Dixie Boys and Junior Boys World Series held in South Carolina.

Blacksburg's State Tournament run came to an end, when Madison Heights beat Blacksburg O-Zone in a thrilling 2-1 game. 

The Blacksburg All-Stars won the 2010 Dixie Ozone District 3 Tournament Championship on Thursday night defeating Montgomery County 13-1.  Blacksburg will now get ready for the Virginia State tournament in Madison Heights, VA.

In a game that saw both teams combine for 29 runs, Pulaski County East outlasted Blacksburg, 16-13, in the championship game of the Dixie AAA, District 3 All-Stars Baseball Tournament Thursday night at Randolph Park in Dublin.

Day five of the 2010 Dixie Ozone Distinct 3 Tournament at Motor Mile Park Wednesday evening, saw Blacksburg defeat Christiansburg to advance to tonight's championship game against Montgomery County.

Blacksburg would use a strong first and fourth inning, as they defeated Radford, 11-7, Wednesday evening in the Dixie AAA, District 3 Baseball Tournament being played at Randolph Park in Dublin.

Day 4 of the Dixie Ozone District 3 Tournament Tuesday at Motor Mile Park saw six hours of baseball action, as both games needed extra innings to find a winner.
