In an evenly matched soccer battle between the Christiansburg Soccer Club Mustangs U11 girls and the New River United U11 Sunday afternoon at Kipps Elementary School, both teams would play to a 2-2 draw.

NRU took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Agapi Halkidis. The Mustangs then tied the game on a penalty kick by Abby Lafon.

In the first half, NRU goalie Chloe Jones recorded three saves, while Christiansburg's Caitlyn Caudell tallied two saves.

In the second half, Riley Verneil scored for NRU, while Abby Lafon found the back of the net for the Mustangs to tie the game at 2-all.
