It was a recording setting day Saturday at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center, as the Southwest Virginia Swim League concluded its season with its 2012 SVSL Championships, which saw the Shawnee Swim Club easily out-swim their competition.

A total of 28 new records were set, as the Shawnee Swim Club claimed the championship trophy with 3,061 points. The Meadows Swim Club was a distant second with 1,636 points, followed by Christiansburg Aquatic Center (1,576.5), Ridgewood Swim Club (1,380), Blacksburg Country Club (1,335), Blacksburg Aquatic Center (1144.5) and Hethwood Swim Club (960).

Kelly Frizzell of the Christiansburg Aquatic led the way by setting three new records in the Girls 13-14, 50-yard fly, 28.42, the 50-yard free, 26.00 and the 100-yard IM, 1:07.03.

Setting records in two events included Cammie Seeley (SSC, Girls 11-12, 100-yard free, 59.63 and the 50-yard back, 31.48), James Rich (CAC, Boys 6-under, 25-yard back, 23.44 and the 25-yard free, 21.16), Isaac Sudweeks (BCC, boys 9-10, 50-yard back, 34.53 and 50-yard breast, 39.92), Robert Hodge (SSC, Boys 9-10, 50-yard fly, 32.79 and the 100-yard IM, 1:14.11), Sally Kizer (CAC, Girls 50-over, 50-yard breast, 46.21 and the 100-yard IM, 1:39.10) and Brian Starr (RWSC, Boys 30-39, 50-yard breast, 34.93 and the 100-yard IM, 1:11.79).

Also setting new records were Susan Bricken (CAC, Girls 50-over, 100-yard free, 1:24.66, Patrick Reilly (SSC, Boys 7-8, 25-yard back, 19.22), Megan Anderson (SSC, Girls 6-under, 25-yard back, 24.72), Heather Rowland (MSC, Girls 30-39, 50-yard back, 32.36), Becky Sutton (MSC, Girls 50-over,50-yard back, 44.58), Trevor Jamerson (BAC, Boys 20-29, 50-yard back, 28.22), Brooke Sudweeks (BCC, Girls 11-12, 50-yard fly, 30.68), Sarah Mathes (SSC, Girls 40-49, 50-yard fly, 33.05), Dawn Terpenny (CAC, Girls 50-over, 50-yard fly, 45.40), Kristi Flack (SSC, Girls 40-49, 50-yard breast, 39.77), Leo Yang (BAC, Boys 9-10, 50-yard free, 31.56), Jack Flora (MSC, Boys 11-12, 50-yard free, 28.40) and SSC (Sophia Link, Abigail Wontrop, Julie Anderson, Robert Hodge) in the Mixed 9-under 200-yard free relay with a time of 2:17.32.
