The Mariners were able to defeat the Danville Braves 8-7 Monday night at Historic Calfee Park. The victory gave Pulaski their 20th win of the season placing them in 8th place in the Appalachian League.
Despite giving up three runs to the Braves in the first inning, M’s starter Charles Kaalekahi (4-3) was able to settle down and ultimately notch his fourth win of the year.
Danville’s catcher Josh Elander was the driving force behind the Braves offense as he went 2-3 with two homeruns and three RBI’s. Pulaski was able to outhit the Braves 12 to 9 even though they managed to strand seven runners compared to the Braves four runners left on.
Dario Pizzano (3-5, 2B, RBI) Jabari Henry (2-4, HR (5), 2RBI), Phillips Castillo (2-4, HR, 2R, RBI), and Martin Peguero (2-5) all had multi-hit nights for Pulaski.

And don’t forget that tomorrow is also “K9’s at Calfee”; enjoy the game with your dog for a minimal fee of $2 (Dogs must have updated shots and be on a leash for duration of game).
