The Recreation Advisory Board meeting scheduled for September 1, 2010 has been cancelled.

The Blacksburg Aquatic Center will be closed August 22 at 6 pm till September 3 for routine maintenance. The center will tentatively open on Saturday, September 4 at noon.

Montgomery County Parks & Recreation is currently taking registrations for youth football and youth cheerleading in the Blacksburg, Auburn and Eastern Montgomery school districts. 

The Christiansburg Recreation Center basketball courts will be closed starting Thursday, July 29th. The basketball courts will reopen on Saturday, July 31st, at 8 a.m.

As you are aware -- I have made sure of that -- the 2010 Dixie Boys World Series gets underway Friday, July 30 and will run through Wednesday, August 4.

The Christiansburg Recreation Center will be closing at 9 a.m. on Friday, July 30th, in preparation for the 2010 Dixie Boys World Series Opening Ceremonies.

The first annual Future Stars Football Camp will be held July 26 through 28 at Patrick Henry High School from 6 to 8 p.m. The camp is for young people ages 6 to 12 and is offered free of charge to Roanoke City residents. Participants can register on-site for one evening of camp or all three.

Want to catch some great softball action? Then you will want to be at the Motor Mile Park, off Exit 109, or Veterans Field in Radford, as the All-Star Dixie Softball Tournaments continues today with plenty of action.

Franklin County Baseball, Inc (FCB) is currently taking registrations for its fall baseball programs.

Frog Hoppers Summer Camp (Ages 6-10) Frog Hoppers, Montgomery County's summer day camp, is a great way for children to experience education and recreation in the outdoors. This is a well structured camp that will involve small group learning activities in Mid-County Park around the Frog Pond.
