With a solid victory over Staunton River in the Blue Ridge District consolation match this past Saturday, William Byrd earned a berth in the Region III boys' team tennis tournament. The Terriers made the two-hour drive up I-81 to meet the Spotswood Trailblazers in a first round regional match Monday and fell short, 5-0.

After several days of heavy rain, the Blue Ridge District boy's tennis tournament got underway this past Wednesday at Washington and Lee University. As the #4 seed, William Byrd faced regular season champ and #1 seed Rockbridge County. The Wildcats cruised past the Terriers 5-1, with the lone win coming from Bryce Martin (WB #1).

In the end, Staunton River prevailed 5-4 to climb into 4th place in the BRD, only one game behind Byrd.

On Friday evening at Walrond Park in Roanoke County, the Vikings of Northside hosted Willaim Byrd in a Blue Ridge District boy's tennis match. Byrd edged Northside 5-4 in a marathon affair, allowing the Terriers to solidy their hold on 3rd place.
