In a battle of county rivals, Lord Botetourt claimed a 2-0 non-district baseball win over James River Wednesday in Daleville.

Brian Ward led the Cavaliers (5-1) with double and home run. Connor Bronson added two hits.

Michael Minich earned the win on the mound. He gave up one hit and fanned four in four innings. Zack Kelley, who earned the save, struck out six and allowed just two hits in the last three innings.

Grandon Welch led the Knights with one hit. He also took the loss on the mound.
