Staunton River travelled to Bedford Thursday night to take on cross-county rival Liberty. However, the Golden Eagles came up short, as they fell 29-27, 25-18 and 25-18 in non-district volleyball action.

Jewell McRoy led Staunton River (1-2) with 11 assists. Moira Guzi had four kills and two blocks, while Abby Moran finished with four kills.
