Staunton River took an early lead in this one, as the Golden Eagles claimed a 49-46 Blue Ridge District girls' basketball win over Nortrhside Tuesday night in Roanoke.

The Golden Eagles flew out to a 21-18 halftime lead and continued to control the tempo in the second half in claiming the slim 46-49 road win.

Kassie Hoag paced Staunton River with 15 points. Brie Holdren tossed in 13 points and Shaniesha Robinson added 12 points.

Carla Anderson led Northside with 11 points and 10 rebounds and Melanie Mirzayan had 15 points.
