The Terriers made the two-hour drive up I-81 to meet the Spotswood Trailblazers in a first round regional match Monday and fell short, 5-0.

On this rainy Tuesday evening, Staunton River visited William Byrd for a Blue Ridge District boy's tennis match, and the Golden Eagles and Terriers volleyed momentum all evening as if it was - well, a tennis ball. In the end, Staunton River prevailed 5-4 to climb into 4th place in the BRD, only one game behind Byrd.

Read More...On Friday evening at Walrond Park in Roanoke County, the Vikings of Northside hosted Willaim Byrd in a Blue Ridge District boy's tennis match. Byrd edged Northside 5-4 in a marathon affair, allowing the Terriers to solidy their hold on 3rd place.

Read More...William Byrd hosted Alleghany at the Terrier courts on a steamy Tuesday evening, and with a win, Byrd would pull even with the Mountaineers for second place in the Blue Ridge District boys tennis race. Alleghany won the first meeting 6-3, but the Terriers carried a heavy dose of momentum after last Friday's convincing 7-2 victory over Lord Botetourt. Unfortunately for Byrd, momentum has no loyalty. The visitors came out strong and held on for a 5-4 triumph.

Read More...Still buzzing from last Friday's exciting victory over Staunton River, the William Byrd Terriers hosted Blue Ridge District newcomer Rockbridge County High School on a blustery Tuesday evening. The Wildcats entered the contest unbeaten in district play, and the once-beaten Dogs looked to chase these 'Cats all the way back to Lexington. However, the Cats won 8-1.
