Northside visited William Byrd to kick off the second half of the Blue Ridge District tennis season. In the first meeting, Byrd prevailed 7-2 in a match more competitive than the final indicated. Friday evening, a focused Terrier squad dispatched the Vikings 8-1 for their sixth straight win. Byrd now stands 5-0 in the Blue Ridge and 8-5 overall.
Brennan Escobar (one singles) displayed a flurry of aggressive ground strokes to win in just under 30 minutes. Joseph Davis (two singles) and Bryce Martin (five singles) overwhelmed their opponents with impressive, all-court tennis, and Trevor Perdue (four singles) and Will Trent (six singles) contolled their matches throughout. The Terriers swept all three doubles for the 8-1 final margin.
William Byrd travels to Daleville on May 4th for a BRD match with the always tough Lord Botetourt Cavaliers.
