The first annual Dennis Grindstaff Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament will be held on July 10 at the Wolf Creek Golf Course.  Proceeds will benefit a Bland County high school graduating senior that plans to become a teacher.

Bland County's Grace Sarver and Kirby Mustard claimed the Region C girls double title Wednesday afternoon at Grayson County High School, as they defeated Radford's Casey Wojtera and Hannah Cooley, 6-0, 6-2.

Grace Sarver of Bland County won the Region C girls singles crown, as she defeated Amelia Walters of Bath County Tuesday afternoon at Grayson County High School in Independence.

Bland County continued to dominate the girls tennis scene in the Mountain Empire District, as they won the team title Wednesday afternoon with a 5-2 decision over Grayson County at Wytheville Community College.

Bland County captured the Mountain Empire District boys tennis championship Wednesday afternoon at Fort Chiswell High School, as they blanked Galax, 5-0.
