The first annual Dennis Grindstaff Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament will be held on July 10 at the Wolf Creek Golf Course.  Proceeds will benefit a Bland County high school graduating senior that plans to become a teacher.

The tournament is a captain's choice/shotgun start starting at 1 p.m., including 18 holes of golf and cart rental.

Prizes include a charter fishing trip that includes three days and two nights on the Chesapeake Bay/Rappahannock River (valued at $1,800), electronics, gift certificates, and signed sports memorabilia. The first and second place teams will also receive a cash prize, along with prizes for the longest drive and closest to the pin There will be a meal provided for participants and adult beverages available to purchase.

The entry fee will be $60 per person and checks should be made to the D. B. Grindstaff Memorial Scholarship Fund and mailed to Carrie Harwood, 1021 Montgomery Street, Blacksburg, VA 24060.
