Virginia High scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the eighth inning, to end Fort Chiswell's season with an 11-10 victory, in the quarterfinals of the Group A baseball toturnament Tuesday night in Bristol.
Virginia High now meets Chatham at 10 a.m. Friday in the Group A semifinals at Radford University.
The Pioneers, who trailed 9-6 heading into the top of the sixth inning, would strike for three runs, behind an RBI single from Parker Mabe and a two-run double off the bat of Coltan Ayers, to tie the game at 9-9
Ty Kirby's RBI grounder in the top of the eighth would give Fort Chiswell its first lead of the game. 10-9.
The Bearcats answered in the bottom of the inning, when they scored twice to claim the 11-10 victory.
