Galax is sending nine grapplers to today's semifinals, as they hold a 98 1/2 - 81 lead over second-place Glenvar, after the opening day of the Region C wrestling tournament being held at Parry McCluer High School in Buena Vista.

Defending Group A champion Glenvar will have eight wrestlers in today's semifinals.

James River is in third place with 64 points, followed by Chilhowie (58) and Radford (48).
