Justin Hash scored a game-high 24 points, as he helped lead Galax to a 50-32 victory over Parry McCluer in the semifinals of the Region C, Division 1 boys tournament Friday night at George Wythe.
Galax (15-6) meets East Mont (17-8) for the Region C, Division 1 title tonight at George Wythe. Game time is 7:45 p.m. Both teams will advance to next week's state quarterfinals.
The Fighting Blues (16-8) jumped out to a 14-9 lead after the opening quarter. The Maroon Tide would battle back in the second quarter to tie the game at 17-all at the half. Galax, behind 18 third-quarter points from Hash, would outscore Parry McCluer, 21-5, to pull out to a 38-22 lead going into the final quarter. The Maroon Tide would continue to hold the upper-hand throughout the fourth quarter, as they advanced with the 50-32 victory.
Zack Stinnett led Parry McCluer with 12 points.
