John Bennett's layup on a feed from Ethan Humphries gave James River the lead with 1:04 left in overtime, and the Knights made three of six free throws in the final minute to claim a 52-50 victory over Dan River in the Group AA, Division 2 boys semifinals at the Siegel Center Friday afternoon.

James River (27-2) will meet Buckingham in the championship game at 5 p.m. today.

Dan River (14-9) trailed 21-16 at halftime, but outscored James River 15-3 in the third quarter. James River recovered to tie the game with 48 seconds left on Jordan Talbott's reverse layup, then blocked a three-pointer just before the buzzer.

R.J. Myers' tip-in with 10 seconds left pulled Dan River within one. Patrick Bennett's free throw with 3.2 seconds made it 52-50, and the Wildcats were unable to get off a shot before time ran out.

Patrick Bennett led James River with a game-high 19 points and nine rebounds.

Trey Edmunds paced Dan River with15 points and 11 rebounds..
