Hidden Valley scored a pair of runs in the fifth inning and made it hold, as the Titans edged Blacksburg 2-1 in the semifinals of the River Ridge District baseball tournament being contested at Calfee Park in Pulaski.

Ben Fraley out-lasted Zach Mineraldi in a pitcher's duel covering two days. Fraley hurled a two-hitter, striking out 10 and allowing no earned runs (two unearned). Mineraldi pitched a four hitter, striking out nine and allowed only one earned run, as Blacksburg edged host Salem 3-2 in the quarterfinals of the River Ridge District baseball tournament Tuesday afternoon.

Both the Blacksburg boys and girls tennis team, along with the Hidden Valley boys'  and Abingdon girls advanced to the semifinals rounds after picking up wins Monday in the quarterfinals of the Region IV team tournament Monday at the Va. Tech Tennis Pavillion.

Blacksburg closed out the regular season on a high note, as the Bruins earned a 5-3 River Ridge District win over visiting Pulaski County Thursday afternoon.

On Sunday, May 13^th, two more Blacksburg High School seniors signed to further their sports careers in college. In addition to the schools male and female athlete of the year being named.

Blacksburg secured the top seed in next week's River Ridge District boys' soccer tournament, as well as an automatic berth in the Region IV tournament, with an easy 6-0 win against visiting Pulaski County Tuesday night.

Blacksburg concluded its regular season with a perfect record, as the Bruins claimed an 8-0 win over Pulaski County in River District girls' soccer action Tuesday night in Dublin. The matched was called in the 60th minute due to the slaughter rule.

Blacksburg continued to roll through the River Ridge District, as the Bruins claimed a 3-0 win over Cave Spring Friday night in Roanoke.
