Blacksburg scored 11 second quarter points and made them hold, as the Bruins put a damper on the Lord Botetourt Homecoming festivities, as the Bruins pulled off a shocking 11-0 win.
The Bruins (2-3) took a 3-0 lead on a 35-yard field goal by Carson Wise late in the second quarter. A 1-yard plunge by Marcus Hardo and then a two-point conversion play pass from Kaleb Bohrnstedt to Daniel Hanks increased the Bruins lead to 11-0.
The Cavaliers (3-2) had an opportunity in the final seconds of the second quarter to score. However, time expired with the ball resting on the Bruins' 9-yard line.
In the second half, Lord Botetourt drove all the way to the Blacksburg 2-yard line. However, the Bruin defense stopped the Cavs on a fourth-and-two, to take over on downs.
Blacksburg compiled 118 yards of total offense.
Lord Botetourt tallied 213 yards of offense.
