Christiansburg Hosts 7-on-7 Football Camp

RESchsfb622712 047mmmmArea football fans got an early look as to what they may see this season from our local high schools, as Christiansburg High School played host to the New River Valley 7-on-7 camp Wednesday night.

About 100 fans turned out to see teams from Christiansburg, Blacksburg, Pulaski County, Radford, Eastern Montgomery and Grayson County participate in the event.

Not only did the teams get a chance to get in shape, the concession stand was also open to give the workers an early chance to serve up some burgers, hot dogs and cold drinks on this hot evening.

"This gave us a good chance to run our regular offensive and defensive plays," said Christiansburg head coach Tim Cromer. "These 7-on-7 camps are geared more toward making your defense better."

Coach Cromer also added, "It gives all the coaches a chance to see what their team and players can do in certain situations, plus it builds team unity."

Christiansburg will play host to another 7-on-7 camp on July 18 at 6 p.m. All of the teams participating have yet to be determined.
