Raiven Patterson and Kasey Holcomb combined for 35 points, as they helped lead the Cougars to a 57-39 win over the Bruins in the third-place game of the River Ridge District girls basketball tournament Thursday night at Christiansburg High School.
Pulaski County would take a 10-6 lead after the opening eight minutes and increased its advantage to 27-20 at the half. Any hopes of a Blacksburg comeback was put to rest in the third quarter, as the Cougars outscored the Bruins, 16-9, to pull out to a 43-29 advantage heading into the fourth quarter. Pulaski would continue to hold the upper-hand in the final eight minutes, as they pulled away for the 57-39 win.
Raiven Patterson led Pulaski County with a game-high 22 points and seven rebounds, while Kasey Holcomb contributed 13 points.
Katie Kipps led Blacksburg with 19 points.
