Pulaski-Cougars-LogoThe Bruins scored the winning run in the top of the seventh inning, and then held off a Cougar rally in the bottom of the inning, to claim a thrilling 2-1 River Ridge DIstrict softball win Wednesday evening in Dublin.

Blacksburg (10-8, 7-3 RRD) jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning.

Pulaski County (6-13, 2-7 RRD) would tie the game in the bottom of the fourth.

The Bruins would score the winning run in the top of the seventh on a Cougar error to take a 2-1 lead. Pulaski County had the tying run on third and the winning run at second in the bottom of the inning. However, they were unable to advance the runners, thus allowing Blacksburg to escape with the 2-1 victory.

Leah Potts picked up the win inside the circle for the Bruins. She struck out six batters and allowed one unearned run.

Brooke Hudley led the Cougars with a 2-for-2 effort, including an RBI.
