Radford Boys Take Sixth, Girls 13th At Runnin With The Wolves

radford-logoWalker Mogen crossed the finish line second to help lead the Radford boys team to a sixth place finish, while the girls squad returned home with a 13th place showing in the annual Runnin with the Wolves Rocktoberfest Cross Country invitational held Saturday at Wolf Branch Farm in Forest.

Mogen finished second overall with a time of 16:29.04, which was 13 seconds off the pace of Christiansburg's Zach Chase, who claimed first place in a time of 16:13.10.

Matt Turk finished 24th with a time of 17:43.70, followed by Ryan Johnson (42nd, 18:07.54), Adam Johnston (58th, 18:24.51), Cole Schafer (76th, 18:54.25) and Sam Van Noy (82nd, 18:58.67).

Christiansburg finished first with 57 points, followed by Clover Hill (87), E.C. Glass (117), Blacksburg (152) and Spotswood (196) to round out the top five teams. Radford was sixth with 197 points. A total of 148 runners and 22 teams competed.

Cameron Schafer led the Lady Bobcats with a 46th place finish in a time of 22:01.18. She was followed by Kayla Crocker (64th, 22:55.22), Emma Duncan (68th, 23:03.95), Morgan Bishop (81st, 23:50.82), Laura Puckett (86th, 24:01.62), Amelia Shaffer (92nd, 24:37.51) and Kate Little (113th, 25:32.93).

Jefferson Forest won the girls crown with 44 points, followed by Myers Park (69), Christiansburg (93), Blacksburg (160) and Cave Spring (173) to round out the top five teams. Radford finished 13th with 327 points. A total of 127 runners and 19 teams competed.
