Devon Goodrich and Alex Strain scored a goal each, as North Cross downed host New Covenant School in non-district boys soccer action Thursday evening.

Paul McNeil scored a pair of goals in helping lead North Cross to a non-conference, season-opening, boys soccer win over Roanoke Valley Christian Tuesday evening in Roanoke.

With 12 returning starters back from last year's VISAA Division III semifinalist, the North Cross Raiders under new head coach Stephen Alexander, look to bring the state title back to the school the school, as they introduce a new offensive and defensive look.

When the North Cross soccer team takes to the pitch this fall, they will be returning an experience core of players, which include 10 seniors and three juniors from last year's fifth place team in the VIC.

With nine returning players, the North Cross field hockey team is very optimistic about this year's season in the Blue Ridge Conference.

Looking to bring back home another state volleyball title, is one of the goals for North Cross, as the Raiders return a stong core of players this season.

North Cross' Craig Hoelzer and Sam Lawrence were both named to the All-VIC first team baseball squad. The duo were also selected to the VISAA, Division III, All-State team.

In the VIS Division III Quarterfinals, Craig Hoelzer was 2-for-3 at the plate driving in four runs on a two-run homer and two-run single leading North Cross to a 13-10 win over Alliance Christian in Portsmouth Tuesday evening.
