With less than a minute remaining in overtime, Carlisle's Corey Gaylor scored on a missed clearance, as the Chiefs defeated North Cross, 3-2, Thursday evening in Roanoke.
The Raiders (3-3, 0-2) took an early 1-0 lead when Visnue Maharaj beat his man to get in a ono-on-one with the keeper and put the ball in the net.
The Chief's Marvin Soyka would score on a busted play to tie the game at 1-1. Late in the first half, Jihun Lee scored to give Carlisle a 2-1 advantage at the half.
North Cross earned a Penalty Kick midway through the second half and Maharaj got his second goal of the game with the finish to tie the game at 2-2. The score would remain tied through regulation time and the first overtime period.
Thus setting up the exciting ending for Carlisle.
